Accotink Academy Preschool was established in 1964. We are a developmental program with emphasis 
on the whole child. Our program is center based and provides the children with opportunities to learn 
through play.
                    

Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions about our program.

Do Your Teachers Have Degrees?
 
Our lead teachers all have degrees, as do most of our assistant teachers 
 
What Type of Schedule Do You Offer?
 
We offer classes 2, 3, or 5 half days a week. In addition, we have Junior Kindergarten, 
Half Day Kindergarten, and a Full Day Kindergarten. 
 
What Are The Class Times?
 
Am Classes meet from 8:45 - 11:45
PM Classes meet from 12:30 - 3:30
Full Day Kindergarten meets from 8:45 - 3:15 . 
 
What Are The Class Sizes?
 
Each class is limited to 16 students with 2 teachers. 
 
How Are Classes Formed?
 
Classes are formed by birth date of the children.
 
Do You Offer Summer Camp?
 
Sunshine Summer camp is offered from early June to mid July. Information for this summer camp 
becomes available by mid-February of each year.
 
What About Special Classes?
 
The curriculum includes the following special classes:

2 day classes - Creative dance and music
3 day classes - Creative dance , music and drama
5 day classes - Creative dance, music, Spanish (twice a week) and drama.
 
What About Parent Participation?
 
Our program has an "open door policy". Parents are welcome to participate as little or as much as 
they are able.
 
Do You Provide Transportation?
 
We have limited transportation available for students in the AM classes.
 
Do You Go On Field Trips?
 
Field trips are a part of our curriculum.
 
Do You Provide Snacks?
 
Snacks are provided by the school.
 
Do You Provide Lunch?
 
We offer Lunch Bunch daily from 11:45 - 1:00.
